Bristol man arrested after firing gunshots during fight

STARKSBORO — A 29-year-old Bristol man faces multiple charges after police say he fired a gun at two people during a fight in Starksboro on Monday.

Police responded to Bluebird Lane for multiple reports of gunshots in the area at around 7:30 p.m.

Police say two vehicles had fled the scene at a high rate of speed while en route to the scene.

Police say they located bullet holes in a nearby home when they arrived.

According to the police report, Eric LaRose engaged in a physical altercation with both Gary LaRose, 41, of Starksboro, and Melissa Preston, 40, also of Starksboro.

During the altercation, LaRose allegedly assaulted both of them and recklessly discharged a firearm in the direction of three individuals.

Police say LaRose fled the scene and they attempted to locate him for several hours.

Police located LaRose eventually the following day.

He’s facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, offense committed in the presence of a child, and false reports to law enforcement authorities.

He was placed under arrest and ordered to be lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Center with no bail.
