STARKSBORO — A 32-year-old Bristol man was arrested following an incident in Starksboro yesterday.
Police were notified that a vehicle was off the road on Vermont Route 116 at around 10:30 a.m.
It was reported a man crashed into a guardrail and slid off the road.
Witnesses at the scene told police that the driver had fled the scene and ran into the woods.
Police say a man matching the description of the driver was seen walking away from the scene of the crash nearly 2 hours after the crash occurred.
Police identified him as Cory O’Brien, and allege that he was the driver of the initial car crash.
While speaking with O’Brien, police say they found indicators of impairment.
He was screened and arrested for suspicion of DUI, as well as leaving the scene of an accident.
He was processed for DUI #3 and later released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
