BRISTOL — Police arrested Angela Auclair, 47, of Bristol today on suspicion of aiding in the commission of a felony (first-degree murder) and obstruction of justice, arising from a fatal shooting in Hinesburg back in July.

Authorities say the investigation revealed “a pre-planned and coordinated effort to burglarize a Colchester residence where a firearm was stolen and used in the killing of David Auclair the day after the burglary.”

Detectives allege Angela Auclair instructed at least one witness in the case to lie to the police.

Auclair was ordered jailed without bail.

She is due for arraignment tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Burlington.

The investigation into the killing of David Auclair is ongoing, police say.

Police discovered his body at the LaPlatte Headwaters Town Forest trailhead parking lot on July 11.

His death has been identified as multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death is homicide.

He was 45-years-old.
