LINCOLN — A 57-year-old man is facing charges following a crash in Lincoln on Saturday.
The two-vehicle crash took place on West River Road at around 9:35 a.m.
Police say Shaun Colo, of Lincoln, was headed east at an unknown speed when he traveled left of center, entering the opposing lane of travel.
Eva McDonough, 57, also of Lincoln, was headed west and encountered Colo in her lane of travel.
McDonough attempted to avoid colliding with Colo, but she was unable to.
During the investigation, police say they observed several signs of alcohol impairment from Colo.
Police took him into custody for driving under the influence and transported him to the New Haven barracks for processing.
He was issued a criminal citation to appear before the court to answer the charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substance and negligent operation.
State Police were assisted on scene by members of the Lincoln Fire Department and members of the Bristol Rescue Squad.
