Ferrisburgh man cited for DUI, operation without owner’s consent after crash

CHARLOTTE — A 21-year-old man from North Ferrisburgh was cited for DUI, as well as operation without owner’s consent after a crash with injuries in Charlotte yesterday.

Police were notified of the single-vehicle crash on Mount Philo Road at around 3:58 a.m.

The driver and single occupant of the vehicle, identified as Gunnar Sonwaldt, told police that he was injured as a result of the crash.

Police say Sonwaldt was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

According to the police report, it was found that Sonwaldt was driving a vehicle that he did not have permission to be driving.

After investigating, police also say he was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was cited to appear in court on February 27 for the offenses.
