Ferrisburgh residents killed in crash on US Route 7

CHARLOTTE — Two Ferrisburgh residents were killed after a head-on-collision in Charlotte yesterday.

The two-vehicle crash took place on U.S. Route 7 at the intersection of Church Hill Road at around 4:05 p.m.

According to the report, a 16-year-old driver from Atlanta, GA, crossed the centerline before colliding head-on with Chester Hawkins, 73.

Police say he was transported to the University of Vermont Emergency Department where he was later pronounced deceased.

A passenger in the vehicle, Connie Hawkins, 72, was pronounced deceased on scene, police say.

Police say they are still investigating this crash.
