Leicester man facing charges after allegedly hitting troopers during arrest

LEICESTER — A 23-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Leicester on Sunday.

Police were notified of a family disturbance on Lake Dunmore Road at around 8:00 p.m.

Following a preliminary investigation, police allege Travis Alger, of Leicester, knowingly caused pain to a family member.

Police say while attempting to take Alger into custody he became combative and subsequently struck two troopers several times.

He was issued a citation to appear in court to answer the charges of aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest, and two counts of assault of a protected professional.
