BRISTOL — A 33-year-old man will face multiple charges after police say he hit a tree and fled the scene in Bristol yesterday.
Police were dispatched to the crash on Meehan Road at around 9:46 p.m.
State Police say the vehicle involved crashed head-on into a tree and that the driver had fled the area.
Police identified the driver as Frederick Goodrich, of Bristol.
Goodrich was located and told police that he was headed west towards Vermont Route 116 before the crash.
Police say they observed several signs of alcohol impairment while speaking with him.
He was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.
Police say he is facing multiple charges including operating under the influence of intoxicants or other substances, operating after suspension or revocation of license, and false reports to law enforcement authorities.
He was cited to appear in court on December 9 to answer the charges.
