CORNWALL — A 42-year-old man was arrested on charges of DUI and negligent operation after a crash in Cornwall yesterday.

Police were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 30 at around 6:07 p.m.

The driver was identified as Timothy Bushey.

Police say Bushey was headed south and attempted to pass several vehicles.

He lost control of his vehicle while passing, exited the south bound lane and hit a utility pole guide wire.

Police say while speaking with Bushey, they observed several signs of alcohol impairment.

He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and negligent operation, and transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.

At the conclusion of processing, police say he was cited to appear in court to answer to the charges.

He was later released to a responsible sober party.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Middlebury Rescue and the Cornwall Fire Department.
