Motorcyclist injured following crash in Leicester

LEICESTER — A 22-year-old man was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Leicester yesterday.

The crash took place on Lake Dunmore Road at around 6:15 p.m.

Police identified the driver as Jozef Sloma, of Leicester.

As a result of the crash, the southbound lane of travel was shut down for a brief period of time.

According to the report, Sloma was traveling south when he lost control of his motorcycle for an unknown reason.

He was transported by a UVM Helicopter to UVM Medical Center as a result of his injuries.

Police say at the time of transport, Sloma had regained consciousness and was alert.

Troopers were assisted on scene by Middlebury Rescue, Brandon Rescue/Fire, and UVM Medical Personnel.
