One killed in Granville house fire

GRANVILLE — Police say human remains were found in the debris of a house fire in Granville on Sunday.

Police were notified of the fire which broke out at 210 Post Office Hill Road, at around 4:38 a.m.

Authorities responded to the scene to suppress the fire and say there was an indication that one of the residents was missing.

At around 1:29 p.m, human remains were located within the debris of the structure.

The resident who is still unaccounted for has been identified as 37-year-old Nathan Twitchell, of Granville.

Police are still investigating this case in conjunction with various agencies, including the Addison County State’s Attorney’s Office, and are awaiting positive identification of the remains.
