Police: NarCan used on unresponsive driver after crash in Starksboro

STARKSBORO — Police say they administered NarCan to an unresponsive driver involved in a single-vehicle crash in Starksboro on Saturday.

Authorities were notified of the crash on Quaker Street at around 8:30 a.m.

Police responded with assistance from Bristol Rescue, Bristol Fire, and Starksboro Fire departments.

They located the vehicle in a ditch and say the 19-year-old driver was unconscious and non-responsive in the driver’s seat.

Police say the driver became responsive after first responders administered multiple doses of NarCan.

He was transported via ambulance to the Emergency Department at UVMC.

He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and released into the care of the medical personnel at the hospital.
