FERRISBURGH — A 35-year-old Monkton man is facing a charge of petit larceny after police say he stole a donation jar in Ferrisburgh back in January.

On January 31, police were notified of a theft report at the Jiffy Mart at around 9:15 a.m.

A donation jar containing nearly $200.00 intended for Homeward Bound and the Addison County Humane Society, had been stolen.

With the help of surveillance video, police identified the offender as Amos R. Higbee.

Police say they located Higbee yesterday.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on April 27 to answer to the charge of petit larceny.
