Shoreham man arrested following assault

SHOREHAM — A 37-year-old man was arrested for first-degree aggravated domestic assault following an incident in Shoreham on Sunday.

Police were notified of a physical altercation between two household members at a home located on Vermont Route 74 around 8:56 p.m.

Police allege that Oscar Joaquin Tejeda had assaulted another household member, and fled the scene before they arrived.

They attempted to locate him by searching the immediate area, including nearby residences and outbuildings with the use of a K9.

Unable to locate him, police applied for a warrant for his arrest.

This morning at around 7:54 a.m, police say they received a call from the home advising that Tejeda had returned.

He was arrested and transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.

He was subsequently transported by the Addison County Sheriff’s Department to the Rutland County District Court to answer the charge.
