ADDISON — Police responded to a two-car crash in Addison yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 17W near the intersection with Jersey Street, at around 6:01 p.m.

According to the initial police report, Donald Bickford, 68, of Addison, was headed east around a curve when an unidentified vehicle forced him off the eastbound lane.

When Bickford attempted to return to the lane of travel, he crossed into the opposing lane due to snowy road conditions.

Bickford then sideswiped Patrick Kachmar, 47, of Vergennes, who was headed west, police say.

As a result of the collision, Kachmar left the road off the westbound lane and hit a road sign.

Police say Kachmar was evaluated by rescue personnel, but nobody was injured as a result of the crash.
