Woman arrested for excessive speed and DUI in North Ferrisburgh

FERRISBURGH — A 28-year-old Charlotte woman was arrested for excessive speed and DUI in North Ferrisburg last night.

Police say Leyna Jackson was traveling 81 miles-per-hour in a 40 miles-per-hour zone on US Route 7 at around 12:30 a.m.

The trooper stated in his report that after speaking with Jackson, he learned she had consumed alcohol.

He goes on to say that following a brief roadside investigation, it was determined she was under the influence of alcohol.

Jackson was arrested without incident and transported to the Shelburne Police Department for DUI processing. 

She was later released to a sober party.
