SHARON — A 50-year-old-man was arrested on multiple charges following a police chase in Sharon yesterday.

Police say they attempted to pull over Robert Blanchard at around 12:40 p.m. after he made threats to harm others, including law enforcement.

Blanchard refused to stop for police and a chase proceeded through Quechee and West Hartford, onto Vermont Route 14.

Police say they set up with tire deflation strips and were able to deflate both front tires of his vehicle.

According to the report, Blanchard and his dog were unharmed and removed peacefully from the vehicle.

Police say the dog was taken to a friend’s home to be cared for, and he was arrested for the charges of attempting to elude, grossly negligent operation, and operating with a criminally suspended license.

Both Windsor and Hartford Police assisted troopers with this case.
