Concerned motorists help save driver suffering medical episode in Thetford

THETFORD — State police and the Thetford Police Department responded to multiple reports from concerned motorists of a vehicle operating erratically on Interstate 91 on Monday morning, allowing emergency workers to get the driver to the hospital.

The driver was reported to be unable to hold their own lane and traveling at nearly 40 miles-per-hour.

Police say they located the vehicle which was observed to be traveling between the lanes and onto both shoulders of the road.

A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle traveled off the west side of the road and into the woods.

Police found that the driver was having a diabetic episode and was transported to DHMC by Upper Valley Ambulance for treatment.

The driver was not injured and the vehicle was in operable condition with minor front end damage.

Police say they would like to thank the concerned motorists that reported this incident which led to the driver receiving quick medical treatment.
