Driver cited after hitting telephone pole and fleeing scene in Newbury

NEWBURY — A 37-year-old man from Bradford was charged following a hit-and-run crash on Sunday.

The crash took place on Tenney Pond Road in Newbury at around 10:15 a.m.

Police were notified by Green Mountain Power that a vehicle hit a telephone pole, causing significant damage to the pole.

Police found that the vehicle was in the driveway of a home a short distance from the crash.

The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage as a result of the crash.

According to the report, the driver, identified as Zachary St. Martin, received a ride to his home in Bradford.

He was later located and cited for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage resulting.
