Man arrested after driving wrong-way, crashing vehicle on I-89, Royalton

ROYALTON — A 43-year-old man from Massachusetts was arrested following a crash in Royalton yesterday.

Police were notified of numerous reports of a vehicle driving south in the northbound lane on Interstate 89 at around 8:23 p.m.

While en route, police say they observed a vehicle that had crashed in a u-turn.

Police identified the driver as Timothy Walsh, of Boston, MA, who was suspected of driving under the influence.

Police arrested Walsh for the charges of DUI, and gross careless and negligent operation.

He was transported to the State police barracks in Bethel.
