New Hampshire man arrested in Newbury

NEWBURY — A 31-year-old man from New Hampshire was arrested for second degree aggravated domestic assault, and violation of a restraining order following an incident in Newbury yesterday.

Police responded to a call at a home on Route 5 at around 8:13 p.m.

According to the police report, Donald Smith, of Woodsville, NH, assaulted the victim at the location.

Police say they found that the victim had an active restraining order on Smith.

Smith was located by police in Bradford and was taken into custody.

After processing, he was lodged on $1,500 bail at NERCC.

Police say he is set to appear in court on January 6 to answer the charges.
