Police: Drug overdose call in Newbury call leads to arrest

NEWBURY — A 29-year-old Wells River man was arrested on a warrant following an incident in Newbury yesterday.

A potential drug overdose was reported on US Route 5 near Round Barn Road at around 11:31 a.m.

Police arrived on scene with EMS and the man was conscious and alert and declined EMS evaluation.

He was identified as Jordan Johnson.

Police say Johnson was found to have two active warrants for his arrest out of Orange County.

According to the report, he refused to answer Covid-19 questions and wear a mask at the court.

He was lodged at the Northern State Correctional Complex.

He was cited to appear in court on July 29 to answer the charge of false information to a law enforcement officer.
