Vershire men facing gun-related charges in Boston

BOSTON — A Vershire man was arrested last week after allegedly bringing firearms from Vermont into Boston.

Boston Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Dominick Bailey, 54 of Vershire, on gun-related charges and the recovery of several firearms in South Boston.

The officers were aware that Bailey, and a second suspect, Glenn Lacedra, 58, of Revere, Mass., intended to sell or trade weapons in the city.

Both were arrested at around 3:10 p.m.

Police discovered and recovered a .223 caliber Palmetto Armory/PA-15 AR-15 rifle, a 9mm Taurus PT92 AF handgun, a .22 caliber Walther P22, a long barrel Thompson Arms Co./Encore pistol and several rounds of ammunition.

They are facing multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of an unlicensed assault rifle and violation of the City of Boston assault weapons Act of 1989.

They are scheduled to appear in South Boston District Court.
