BRANDON — Vermont Lottery officials announced today that a $2 million Powerball ticket had been sold at Jiffy Mart in Brandon.

The winning ticket matched five out of five numbers, not including the Powerball.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 08, 27, 44, 51, 61; the Powerball was 14 with the PowerPlay multiplier 03.

The Powerball jackpot was not hit Wednesday, allowing the Powerball jackpot to roll to an estimated $130,000,000 for this Saturday’s, December 7 drawing.

Nobody yet had come forward to claim the winning ticket, but store personnel were excited and hoped it’s someone local.

“It’s always thrilling when we get a notification of a big win in Vermont,” said Gary Kessler, Deputy Commissioner for the Vermont Lottery said.

All Vermont Lottery agents receive an extra commission for all tickets sold in their stores that win $500 or more so Jiffy Mart in Brandon will benefit as well.

The Vermont Education Fund receives 100% of lottery profits.

Vermont Lottery games are sold at almost 700 locations, including 100 WinStation lottery game vending machines throughout the state.
