Brandon man arrested on multiple charges

POULTNEY — A 38-year-old man from Brandon was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Poultney yesterday.

Police were notified of a welfare check at around 6:48 a.m.

Following an investigation, police found that Brayton Gillett had assaulted a family or household member and did so in the presence of children.

It was also found that Gillett had violated his court-ordered conditions of release multiple times.

He was arrested and transported to the Rutland State Police barracks for processing.

A judicial officer was contacted, and he was ordered held without bail.

He is facing multiple charges which include, second degree aggravated domestic assault, violation of conditions of release, and offense committed within the presence of a child.

He was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and also ordered to appear in court on April 7.
