Car bloody, driver missing after crash in West Pawlet

WEST PAWLET — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in West Pawlet yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 153 at around 10:00 a.m.

According to the report, a Jeep Liberty was headed east when it traveled off the south side of the road.

It collided head-on with a tree, caving in the passenger side headlight assembly, crumpling the hood, frame, and doors, and shearing the passenger side front wheel from the vehicle.

Police located the vehicle abandoned, and say they spotted blood in the vehicle.

State police say they are concerned for the welfare of the driver.
