Castleton man cited for leaving scene of crash

RUTLAND — A 55-year-old Castleton man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident in West Rutland on Tuesday.

Police say they located a disabled vehicle in the area of Boardman Hill Road while they were on patrol at around 9:42 a.m.

Police identified the driver as Michael Carrara.

They say his vehicle was actively smoking and had visible front-end damage.

According to the police report, Carrara was involved in a crash earlier in the day in Castleton where he failed to provide proper information to the other driver.

Police say he was also driving the vehicle with no valid insurance as well as being under civil suspension.
