Cyclist hit in Killington

KILLINGTON — A 40-year-old Pittsfield woman who was cycling was injured after being hit by a car last week.

Police say they responded to the incident which took place on September 3, in Killington.

According to police the vehicle was being operated by Debra Whittaker, 32, of Killington.

They say she was traveling west on West Park Road when she turned left onto Killington Road, and failed to observe the cyclist.

The cyclist was identified as Cathy Capetta.

According to the report, Capetta was transported to the Rutland Regional Medical Center for a possible spinal injury.

There was no update from police regarding her injuries.
