Man wanted in New York arrested in Poultney

POULTNEY — Police say a fugitive wanted in New York for burglary and other crimes was arrested in Poultney on Saturday.

At around 2:30 p.m. police responded to a residence to locate the subject of the warrants.

Police say they made contact with and identified the subject as Neimiah Van Guilder, 34, of Poultney.

Van Guilder was taken into custody without incident and transported the Rutland barracks where he was processed then lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center on $100,000 dollars bail.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on September 16, for arraignment and extradition.
