Medical event leads to van in Lake Beebee, Hubbardton

HUBBARDTON — A 56-year-old West Rutland man suffered a medical event prior to a crash in Hubbardton yesterday.

A white van traveled into Lake Beebee on Vermont Route 30 at around 2:44 p.m.

Police say a man was found lying on the side of the road near the crash scene and he was unresponsive.

Police identified the driver as Kevin Kearney.

The vehicle had driven off the road and then into the lake.

Police say Kearney was able to get out of the vehicle before it went into the water and
submerged.

He appeared to have suffered a medical event prior to the crash.

He was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Hospital by ambulance.
