One person dead after three-vehicle crash in Rutland

RUTLAND — Authorities say one person was killed, and several others injured after a three-vehicle crash on Route 7 this morning. 

The crash took place at around 10:30 a.m. 

The incident caused Route 7, between Vernon Street and North Street to be closed off by police. 

Police have not yet released the name of the victim in the crash.

They say at last two more people were transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for injuries, described as non-life threatening. 

The crash, which involved a truck and two cars, took out a telephone pole at the scene.
