Police: Driver fell asleep and crashed into tree, Poultney

POULTNEY — Police say a 36-year-old driver from Middletown Springs fall asleep and crashed into a tree in Poultney on Sunday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on Vermont Route 140 at around 7:00 p.m.

The 2018 Subaru Outback was headed southeast when the driver fell asleep at the wheel, traveled off the road and crashed into a tree.

Police say the driver was not injured during the incident.

R&D Automotive removed the vehicle from the road.
