Police: Driver fell asleep, crashed in Pittsford

PITTSFORD — A 16-year-old driver from Pawlet fell asleep and crashed his vehicle in Pittsford yesterday.

Police responded to the single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 30 at around 4:16 p.m.

A 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed north when the driver fell asleep, crossed the southbound lane, and exited the road.

Police say the Jeep collided with a wire fence and a large apple tree off the west shoulder of the road.

There were no injuries reported during this incident.
