Police is Rutland make 1 arrest, 20 stops during saturation patrol last night

RUTLAND – Police conducted a saturation patrol yesterday on Route 4 and Route 7 in Rutland.

Police say the purpose of the patrol was to detect and identify impaired and aggressive drivers, enforce motor vehicle laws, and promote safe driving on the road.

A total of 20 stops were made, 2 tickets were handed out, and 19 written warnings issued.

Police say they screened two drivers for impairment.

Todd Popovitch, 38, of West Rutland, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, violation of condition of release, and operating with a criminally suspended license.
