Police: Mount Holly residents assaulted man inside Belmont General Store

BELMONT — Two Mount Holly residents were cited for assaulting a man at a local business in Belmont on Friday.

Police say a 911 hang-up call was received from the Belmont General Store at around 7:25 a.m.

A woman at the store told police that there was a physical altercation between two men and a woman.

According to the police report, Donald H. Grenier, 55, and Margaret A. Grenier, 56, physically assaulted a 53-year-old man inside the store.

Police say the assault caused pain and injury to the victim.

Police say Donald and Margaret Grenier were later cited to appear in court on March 2 to answer to the offense of simple assault.
