PITTSFORD — A 24-year-old Pittsford man was arrested for providing false information to law enforcement and for an active warrant yesterday.

Police say they conducted a traffic stop on Elm Street, near US Route 7 in Pittsford, after spotting a vehicle driving with an expired inspection sticker at around 2:23 p.m.

Upon investigation, police identified the driver as Troy M. Hale, who they say provided false identifying information to them.

Police learned that Hale had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in court.

Police took Hale into custody and transported him to the Rutland barracks for processing.

Police say later he was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
