Police: Traffic stop in Rutland leads to DUI and passenger arrest

RUTLAND — Police say a traffic stop led to the arrest of two people who were violating court conditions by consuming alcohol.

Last night at around 10:50 p.m. deputies from the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.

During the stop, police say they suspected the driver, identified as Cody Crandall, 31, of Danby, to be under the influence of alcohol.

Police say he has active conditions of release to not possess or consume alcohol.

Crandall was arrested for DUI and violating his court-ordered conditions.

Police say the passenger in the vehicle, identified as Samantha Tyminski, 29, of Wallingford, had active court conditions to not consume alcohol.
