Rollover crash with injury, Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — A 72-year-old man from New Hampshire was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Wallingford yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 103 at around 1:00 p.m.

The vehicle was found overturned in a ditch along the northbound lane.

The driver was identified as Richard Ackerson of Lyme, NH.

Ackerson was transported to the hospital for possible injuries and evaluation.

According to the police report, it was found that Ackerson lost control, drove into the opposing lane and then overturned his vehicle.

“Speed and alcohol impairment are both believed to be factors in this crash” a statement issued by police reads.

Police say criminal charges are currently pending.

State Police were assisted by the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, East Wallingford Fire Department, and the Mount Holly Rescue Squad.
