RUTLAND — A 50-year-old man was injured after his vehicle ran over his leg in Rutland on March 18.
The incident took place at the intersection of US Route 7 and East Pittsford Road at around 6:15 a.m.
According to the report, Brain Tarmy, of Rutland City, was driving when he came to a stop on East Pittsford Road.
Police say Tarmy put his vehicle in park and exited the vehicle to check the rear seat.
He told police that his vehicle began rolling toward US Route 7.
He tried to stop the vehicle but was struck by the rear door, which resulted in him falling and the rear tire running over his left leg.
His vehicle continued across US Route 7 where it went down an embankment, striking several trees and a large rock.
State police were assisted on scene by the Rutland Town Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service, Howe Center Auto, and Carrara’s Towing.
