SHREWSBURY — A 35-year-old Rutland man was arrested for violating his conditions of release and possession of cocaine in Shrewsbury on Saturday.

Police were notified by Vermont Fish & Wildlife of a vehicle with two subjects inside sleeping on CCC Road at around 11:29 a.m.

The vehicle had been reported stolen the previous night from Rutland City, police say.

After investigating, police found that the driver, Craig Wilkins, was in violation of conditions of release imposed upon him for prior criminal charges.

Police say they located a small amount of cocaine during a search of Wilkins.

He was placed in custody and transported to the Rutland barracks for processing.

He was later lodged on $200.00 bail at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.

He was ordered to appear in court on February 18.
