Rutland man charged with resisting arrest following traffic stop

RUTLAND — A 30-year-old Rutland man was arrested for driving with a criminally suspended license and resisting arrest early this morning.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation on Harrington Avenue in Rutland at around 12:53 a.m.

Police say the driver fled the scene on foot, and a chase ensued.

Police caught the suspect, who was later identified as Daniel Guyette.

According to the police report, Guyette was operating a motor vehicle on a public highway while under criminal suspension.

Police arrested Guyette and he was transported to the state police barracks for processing.

He was cited to appear in court on November 25.
