RUTLAND — Police say they caught a 43-year-old man who they believe stole a vehicle in Rutland yesterday.

The stolen vehicle was spotted on State Street at around 2:30 p.m.

Police identified the driver as Joshua Cave, of Rutland.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop and found that Cave’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle was suspended.

In the police report, it is noted that Cave may have purchased the vehicle from an unidentified man during the late hours of Saturday, in the downtown Rutland area.

The report does go on to say that he was issued a citation to appear in court to answer for the charge of operation without owner’s consent, on June 15.
