Teen driver facing numerous charges after rollover crash in Whiting

WHITING — An 18-year-old woman from Chittenden will face charges including DUI following a rollover crash in Whiting early this morning.

Police say they were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Vermont Route 30 in Sudbury for a speeding violation at around 1:56 a.m.

The vehicle began accelerating away from police, initiating a pursuit.

The police chase entered Whiting where the identified vehicle proceeded onto Stickney Road.

The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control and went off the road causing the vehicle to roll several times in a field.

As a result of the crash, the driver, identified as 18-year-old Chelsea Konarski, was ejected from the vehicle.

Police say she and a passenger were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

According to the report, she showed signs of impairment and was processed for DUI.

Police say she will face charges of driving under the influence, gross negligent operation, eluding a police officer, and reckless endangerment.
