BETHEL — An on-duty Vermont State Police trooper was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Bethel this morning.
Police say Detective Trooper Christopher Blais was driving a police cruiser when he reported that he was involved in a crash on River Street at around 8:34 a.m.
According to the police report, Blais had turned onto River Street from Main Street and was headed west.
While approaching the intersection with Peavine Blvd., his vehicle was struck in the passenger side by another vehicle pulling out from the stop sign at the intersection.
The driver was identified as Willo McCullough, 87, of Bethel.
McCullough then continued into a cement wall adjacent to the intersection.
Police say nobody was injured as a result of the crash.
McCullough’s vehicle sustained minor front end damage.
The police cruiser sustained moderate contact damage and had to be towed from the scene.
