MONTPELIER — A 50-year-old Barre man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Montpelier yesterday.
Police say they enacted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling 89 miles-per-hour in a posted 65 miles-per-hour zone on Interstate 89 at around 7:10 p.m.
Police say the vehicle attempted to elude them at a high rate of speed on I-89 before turning off I-89 on exit 8.
The vehicle continued to display erratic and negligent operation while attempting to elude police on Vermont Route 2 before coming to a stop.
Police identified the driver as Dan Hanson.
Following an investigation, police found that Hanson had a criminally suspended license.
He was arrested and transported to the State Police Middlesex barracks.
He was issued a citation to appear in court and lodged at Northwestern State Correctional Facility.
