BARRE — A 29-year-old man from Barre is facing a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison after police say that crack cocaine was being made at his home.

Brian M. McGrath recently pled not guilty in court to charges of cocaine possession and dispensing a regulated drug.

Police say back in September a source pointed them to a home in Barre allegedly being used as a hotspot for cooking crack cocaine.

According to court records, McGrath answered the door when police arrived at that home.

A jar with a white dry residue and a spoon were visible inside, police say.

A pink liquid inside a glass bottle, multiple wax bags, and a white powder that later tested positive for cocaine were all found inside the home.

McGrath was released on conditions.
