BOLTON — A 36-year-old man from Connecticut sustained a serious head injury following a single-vehicle crash in Bolton early this morning.
Police were notified of an overturned box truck blocking the left lane of I-89 north at around 2:54 a.m.
The driver was seriously injured but alert and entrapped in the cab of the truck when emergency crews arrived.
Police say the responding troopers and a good Samaritan that had stopped were able to extricate the driver.
He was transported by Richmond Rescue to UVM Medical Center.
Police remained on scene and the left lane of I-89 north remained closed for 2.5 hours.
According to the initial police report, “inattention and exhaustion” were contributing factors, but police are still investigating this crash.
