Head-on crash with injuries, Waterbury

WATERBURY — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Waterbury on Friday.

The crash took place on US Route 2 near Farr Road at around 9:29 p.m.

Police say the vehicle, driven by Jose Escobar, 28, of Charlotte, was found sideways blocking the eastbound lane.

The second vehicle, driven by Edward Greiner, 35, of Bolton, was found off the shoulder of the westbound lane facing east.

According to the police report, it was determined that Escobar was headed west and crossed into the eastbound lane colliding head on with Greiner.

Both vehicles sustained front end damage with heavy driver’s side damage and are considered a total loss, police say.

Police say both drivers sustained injuries.

Escobar was transported to Central Vermont Hospital for further evaluation and treatment and Greiner was cleared by EMS on scene.
