Morrisville man injured during motorcycle crash in Waterbury

WATERBURY — A 57-year-old Morrisville man was injured during a motorcycle crash in Waterbury on Saturday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on Route 100 at around 2:48 p.m.

According to the report, police say the driver, identified as Chris Shonio, was headed south when the vehicle in front of him stopped at the intersection of Russell Road to make a left turn.

While slowing down to avoid a collision, he lost control of his motorcycle, which tipped onto its side.

Police say Shonio sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Copley Hospital by Waterbury Ambulance.

Both lanes of Route 100 at the intersection with Russell Road were temporarily closed due to the crash.
