WILLISTON — A 39-year-old Northfield man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Williston early this morning.
Authorities were notified of a vehicle in the median of I-89 at around 1:01 a.m.
Police said that the vehicle in question had been headed south and attempted to execute a U-turn, becoming stuck against a guardrail.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christopher Brayton.
Police say Brayton exhibited multiple indicators of impairment and attempted to re-enter his vehicle while speaking with them.
He was quickly taken into custody after a brief attempt to resist authorities, police say.
Police say Brayton was ordered to be held at Chittenden Regional Correctional Center due to his high level of intoxication.
Brayton was additionally issued conditions of release and is scheduled to appear in court today to answer charges.
He is facing multiple charges including DUI #3 refusal (felony), resisting arrest #2 (misdemeanor), and careless and negligent operation (misdemeanor).
Police say Brayton is also on probation for a prior DUI #2 conviction.
Additional charges related to probation violations are pending.
